End‑of‑Spring Reflections + Summer Wardrobe Planning Inspiration
To ease the melancholy of spring’s final days & inspire your early‑summer wardrobe plans.
There’s always this slight, unsettled feeling that washes over me as the gentlest part of spring begins to slip away — the way the sun no longer lingers in the same soft, tender way it had just a few weeks ago. Fall is by far my favorite season, and I welcome spring’s soft rebirth with almost an equal measure of glee: its gentle reawakening, its soothing breeze, the lightness that seems to settle over everything. The kind that feels like a hand on the small of your back, guiding you forward without rushing you.
Inevitably, right around this time every year, just as I’m settling into the best part of the season, when I can feel the softness of spring beginning to thin, exhaling its last warm breath, with summer’s bright, insistent glare waiting in the wings, ready to pounce… that’s when I can feel my nervous system rev an octave or two. I promise you, I’m not trying to be melodramatic, but it’s true. And honestly, I doubt I’m the only one.
Every year, this moment arrives — the in-between. The almost-summer looming on the horizon, the hush before the heat. Right around the transition from spring to summer, I can feel the same quiet melancholy returning. The longer days, the harsher light, the restless energy that comes with summertime — something about it always leaves my nervous system feeling slightly out of sync.
Every year, though, I learn a little more about how not to let that feeling consume me or take up more space than it should. But it’s a reminder that seasons change in more ways than just the weather. Sometimes, the arrival of a new season has a way of showing you where you are emotionally, whether you’re ready for it or not.
How about you? Do you ever feel that same shift at the end of Spring, too? Though I suspect the devoted lovers of heat and harsh sunlight may not relate at all.
So, speaking with my spring and fall lovers, here. Hehehe…
Alternatively, with Spring winding down, I’ve been soothing that bittersweet seasonal shift by refreshing my warm‑weather staples — combing through the seasonal sales and using them as an excuse to finally overhaul my summer wardrobe ahead of vacation, which, honestly, is long overdue.

Not to mention, there’s something about curating a version of yourself for a new season that makes the whole transition feel a little easier to accept.
Although I’m not one to push constant consumerism, I do believe in shopping intentionally, especially during these last chance spring-summer sale windows. There’s something far more worthwhile about picking up classic wardrobe staples you’ve been missing at better prices, rather than grabbing trend‑driven pieces just because they’re discounted.
And I have to say, there’s something oddly comforting about rediscovering your style as the seasons switch. About finding pieces that make the thought of unbearable heat feel a little less dreadful, or at the very least, make you feel a little more like yourself stepping into it. It always seems to give me at least one reason to look forward to my all-time least favorite season.
May this upcoming summer season bring lightness in the ways you actually need it — a season of simple pleasures, softer rhythms, shaded corners, and ease you don’t have to chase.
