During Winter, a tree will appear barren, desolate, and dead. But look at that same tree during the Spring or Summer, and it is lush and full. You would hardly recognize it: the same tree, in a different season.

Remember, everything is temporary.

The next time you are having a rough go of it, think of Porcupines and Puppies. If you set up a table inside a mall, and put a porcupine on one side and a puppy on the other, which one will people gravitate towards? How many people want to pick up and hug a porcupine? Not too many that I know of. However, most people love picking up and cuddling puppies!

If you dwell on negativity, you will put out negativity. Everything will be negative to you, and you will even push away the good that can happen, that will happen. You could even push away people who can help you if you let negativity turn you into a prickly porcupine. People are naturally drawn to help those who are warm and friendly as opposed to those who are curmudgeons.

Everyone is dealing with a lot of negative energy coming at them every day in this chaotic world. It is relentless. That is why you have to purposefully and intentionally make your mind over; otherwise, you will be stuck in your misery. You will become prickly. Keep in mind that situations, like seasons, are temporary, but your attitude can become permanent, like a stone that will sink you to the bottom of the abysmal sea, or you can let it be like a buoy that will help you stay afloat, even in the face of what appears to be endless problems washing over you.

Yes, today is hard. Tomorrow, it will probably be the same or worse. But it is not forever. The season will change, and you will find your way out of the darkness into a new day.
